With over 30 years of media experience, there isn’t much that Geoff hasn’t done in radio.
From humble beginnings at 3MA in Mildura in the early eighties as a teenager where he began his journey to the lofty heights of Capital city radio in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
After fifteen years of back announcing the latest rock tracks and numerous weather reports he retired his CDs and pursued his dream … SPORT and THE COACH was born.
Seven years at 101.9 Fox FM, followed by a short stint with Triple M and then eight years with Grubby & Dee Dee at GOLD 104, saw Geoff establish himself as one of the top sports broadcasters in Melbourne.
He has covered major events all over the world including Wimbledon, The Olympics (Sydney and Athens), The FIFA World Cup in Germany, The Australian Formula One Grand Prix, and The Australian Open.
His latest venture was as an assistant producer and writer for a Formula One cable TV show called The Inside Line which is shown in over 100 countries.
Geoff has honed his skills as a sports journalist interviewing some of the worlds major sporting stars, all the while following his mantra: treat a normal person like a star and a star like a normal person.
Geoff brings to the Radio Training Institute not only his vast knowledge of sports radio and media, but the number one ingredient to make it in this business: passion.
Mix that with his attention to detail and his desire to give back to the industry that has been so good to him and you have a lecturer that won’t hold back in imparting his vast knowledge and experience in sports radio journalism.
