Gail is one of Australia’s most respected commercial radio journalists. She started her career in outback New South Wales, before taking up a job in radio at 2WEB in Bourke.
She spent 3 years in Bourke producing news, presenting radio shows and eventually selling radio advertising. Gail also worked in Emerald (4HI) and Cairns (4CA/HOT FM) before moving to Brisbane to take up a position with 4BC. After working there for 3 years, she was awarded the position of breakfast newsreader. This was the first time the station had ever chosen a woman to read their key breakfast bulletins. She continued in that role for more than 2 years before deciding to move to Melbourne to join 4BC’s sister station 3AW in 2008. Gail has worked in rural, regional and metropolitan radio and can offer an insight into the challenges that each sector offers. Gail was a top-4 finalist in the Best News Reader – Metropolitan category of the Australian Commercial Radio Awards in both 2008 and 2010. She has also worked as an MC and voice-over artist for radio and television commercials.
