The next intake of RTI’s immensely successful Advanced Radio Course kicks off on October 30, and positions are filling fast. This intake will be a Night Course, which is great for people who work during the day. It takes place Monday and Tuesday nights, from 5:30-9:30pm, and features a summer break in December and January.
RTI’s Advanced Radio course takes a broad look at the Australian radio industry, so it’s not just about presenting! You’ll also learn things like audio production, copywriting, voiceover, news and interviews, online content and social media, and more.
You’ll pick up valuable tips and advice from people who are in the industry right now. You’ll also get to take part in two broadcast simulation weeks, and since RTI is owned by the ACE Radio Network, you’ll get to have a week’s work placement in one of our network stations.
Here’s what some recent graduates have said about the course:
“The combination of experienced lecturers and hands-on experience have proven to be the difference with RTI – the course perfectly bridges the gap between commercial and community radio. RTI made me confident in my abilities, right now I’m an announcer at Hit Gippsland, and I doubt I would be here without their infinite support.”
– Nick Feain, Breakfast Announcer, Hit Gippsland
“RTI changed my life! It got me that foot in the door that I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else or any other way, (trust me I tried)! I was lucky enough to be plucked out of the course before even finishing and now LOVE what I do every single day! Thank you RTI, for the knowledge, experience, new life long friends and great times!”– Alexandra Knock, Copywriter, 3YB/Coast FM Warrnambool
“Heidi and the whole crew at RTI are the best in the business. All their support, guidance and knowledge of radio is amazing, I owe it to them for giving me that pathway into the industry!”– Lachlan Rooke, Announcer (and ACRA nominee!), 3YB/Coast FM Warrnambool
The course will run Mondays and Tuesdays, 5:30pm – 9:30pm, from October 30 until December 5, 2017, then January 29 until May 15, 2018; plus two major live broadcast simulation weeks, and one week of work experience.
